Abstract

Many factors play roles in the success of managers. However, the manager’s decision-making style is one factor that highly contributes to that success and, therefore, to the success of their organization. In this chapter, a survey that includes a sample of 138 Egyptian managers in different organizational levels (junior, middle, and senior) is conducted to explore their decision-making styles. The research, then, investigates the relation between the variety of managers’ decision styles and seven variables: gender, age, ethnicity, educational level, educational major, administrative experience, and current position. Based on the findings, this research is able to provide baseline information to improve on the implications of decision-making styles on the selection and design of decision-support systems in Egypt.
