Abstract

Abstract The article discusses the problems and possibilities of environmental management in the digitalization of the economy and the model of a circular economy. The potential for environmental governance in a circular economy model for the digital economy is innovative. The main problem in the current development type is a high ecological pressure and low efficiency of use of the ecological tools. The rationale for this is the use of decomposition and hierarchical ordering methods for the purpose improvements of institutional changes. Particular attention is paid to the dissemination of environmentally oriented methods of management of the circular economy at different levels of the economic system. The article discusses the issues of improving environmental management systems based on the decomposition of management objects for agriculture 4.0. Environmental management improves competitiveness and efficiency for sustainable development of the agricultural sector. The environmental component of the digitalization of the agricultural sector increases efficiency and allows the development of a circular economy model. The author’s hypothesis is based on the key role of environmental management in the digital model of economic development. Purposeful institutional application of the principles of circular economy is a promising direction for improving rational resource-saving agriculture 4.0. Methodological issues in the field of environmental management and sustainable development of agriculture 4.0 require further research.
