Abstract
Iran has experienced the rare phenomenon of having two pro-Soviet Communist parties simultaneously: theHizb-i Tudah-i Iran(Party of the Iranian Masses), known as theTudah; and theFirqah-i Dimukrat-i Azarbayjan(Democratic Party of Azarbayjan), or simply, theFirqah-i Dimukrat.
