Abstract
In the electrochemical reduction of 1-nitro-2-naphthol at carbon fibre electrodes an adsorption peak cathodic of the diffusion-controlled peak is obtained, as it happens in processes involving a strong adsorption of the reactant. This adsorption peak appears when the electrodes remain at positive potentials (+1V) in acidic solutions of the nitronaphthol and its interpretation is corroborated by its scan rate and concentration dependence.
