Abstract

Abstract The copper complex [Cu(en)2(Cu I4/2)2] crystallizes monoclinically in the space group C2/m with a = 1039.4(4) pm, b = 1337.5(3) pm, c = 656.7(2) pm, β = 117.51(2)° and Z = 2 formula units. The crystal structure is built up by cations [Cu(II)(en)2]2+ and anionic chains of edge-sharing tetrahedra [Cu(I) I1/2 -]n which are weakly connected by a short distance d(Cu(II) ··· I) = 340.2 pm.
