Abstract
From a solution of a lithium-2-boratanaphthaline Li(XBC9H7), 2a (X = Ph) and 2b (X = iPr2N), the crystalline metal derivatives Fe(XBC9H7)2 (4a, b), (tmeda)Li(XBC9H7) (5 b), and D2Rh(XBC9H7) (7b: D = C2H4; 8b: 2 D = cod) can be prepared. The metal atoms Fe and Rh are hexahapto-bonded to the boron-containing moiety of the naphthaline-type skeleton. By a crystal structure determination, the Li-atom in 5b is found to be bonded in the same way.
