Investigation of Noise Level in Sensitive Areas; Hospitals Located in Isparta City Center

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to measure the noise levels of the hospitals located in the city center of Isparta and to create noise maps. For the purpose, measurements were made at 18 measurement points determined in the gardens and close surroundings of the hospitals. The results obtained were evaluated with the interpolation method in the GIS environment and noise maps of the hospitals were created. In line with the results obtained, it has been determined that the most important source of noise level is traffic. In particular, the intersections and roads at the entrances of the hospitals on the main road were determined as the regions with the highest noise level. The highest noise level was obtained in the morning measurements at Isparta Şehit Yunus Emre State Hospital, and in the evening measurements at Isparta Meddem Hospital. The reason for this was determined as the fact that the hospitals in question were located on the heavy traffic route. According to the results of Leq noise measurements; It has been determined that the noise levels at the measurement points around the hospital exceed the international and national environmental noise thresholds. Reducing the noise to the desired levels is at a level that can be overcome with administrative solutions such as artificial road construction, artificial sites, time-based vehicle restrictions and reforestation studies.
