Abstract

This paper presents thermal optimization of back-light unit (BLU) using a Design of Experiment (DOE) used in conjunction with numerical simulation. The technique is used to optimize multiple aspects of thermal performance for various parameters that are all variable for heat sink and fan. The outcome of this optimization provided with reducing the number of empirical prototype cycles and experiments, and cost of performing these processes. Therefore, it gave a more mature and viable cooling solution. Using DOE technique, thermal design for BLU was optimized and applied to the model.
