Abstract
Abstract
Semi-active control methods, where coefficient of viscous damping or spring constant are changed effectively according to the state of control object, have received much attention from control performance and energy consumption. This study deals with the application of semi-active control method to base isolation control. Semi-active damper is classified into a bilinear system which belongs to a nonlinear system. The bilinear optimal control theory using feedforward control of disturbance is applied to a base isolation control problem of building structure. The variable damper used in this study is a discrete type of coefficient and it takes delay to switch the coefficient. By taking account of these characteristics, the control performance is investigated in the numerical calculation. As a result, it was shown that the method has high control performance in a wide frequency range, and it is effective for the vibration base isolation of building structures.
