Abstract
The stiffening effect of the centrifugal forces on the first-mode bending frequency of a rotating cantilever beam of uniform cross section is investigated by means of the method of successive approximations. It depends upon the angle made by the minor axis of inertia with the direction of the circumferential velocity.
