Abstract
The authors present a solution of the partial-differential equation for heat conduction in a solid circular cylinder for the condition where the heat is forced into the cylindrical surface at a constant rate. A mathematical analysis is made of the temperature-history curve at the heated face and at the axis of the cylinder and the results are reduced to tabular and graphical form for practical application.
