Abstract

The design of rupture discs has been traditionally done by means of experimentation. With the advent of computers many of the critical components of Engineering have been successfully analysed by means of Finite Element Analysis. An attempt has been made here to analyse rupture discs using FEA and compare the results. The analysis has been done using SDRC IDEAS and ANSYS packages and compared the results with the experimental results previously published.
