Abstract
The vibrations of the in-plane rotor system with nonlinear elastic and geometric properties are considered in this paper. The vibrations of the rotor are described as the system often partial differential equations and ten boundary conditions. Approximate Galerkin procedure is used to obtain the second order nonlinear differential equation. The response frequencies of the system are discussed. It is shown that they are functions of angular velocity of the rotor and nonlinear properties of the system.
