Deformation Bounds for Bodies in a State of Creep

Abstract

Bounds on the energy dissipation and surface displacements are found for bodies undergoing nonlinear creep as a result of step loading. Elastic effects are included in a simple manner, and it is shown that the results are applicable to a variety of generalizations of the primary and secondary creep laws.
