Abstract
An infinite beam resting on a flat rigid foundation is loaded by an upward directed concentrated force, which moves at a constant speed. Both the Euler-Bernoulli and Timoshenko beam models are considered. With force magnitude and speed as parameters, the noncontact lengths, mode shapes and foundation reactions are computed and illustrated graphically.
