Abstract
A number of workers have investigated the effect of varying loading rate on the interlaminar fracture properties of fibre reinforced composite materials. In spite of such efforts, a study of the published literature indicates that considerable disagreement still exists and a clear understanding of this highly important issue has yet to be achieved. This review article summarises many of the reported findings and attempts to explain some of the anomalies reported in the literature. This review article contains 58 references.
