Abstract

Trigona Jurine, 1807 (Hymenoptera: Apidae: Meliponini) is one of the most diverse stingless bee genera, with Neotropical distribution, and the greatest diversity in Brazil. Two new species are here described and illustrated: T. (Kt.) almeidae sp. nov. and T. (Ne.) rondoniensis sp. nov. With the description of these two new species, the genus now contains 37 valid species. A key for the identification of Trigona species with occurrence records for Brazil is also provided.
