Abstract
Dictyanthus nichongus (Apocynaceae), a new species endemic to Jalisco, México, is described and illustrated herein. Dictyanthus macvaughianus, D. parviflorus, and D. tuberosus exhibit morphological similarities, but the new species differs from all of them by the combination of its flower size, corolla color, and stylar head shape and exsertion. A description, photographs, and a species key, as well as conservation status, are provided. This discovery increases the number of species of Dictyanthus reported for the country to 17, with 15 of them endemic.
