Abstract
“Tocoro” is a large and internode dimorphic hollow bamboo from the montane forest of Bolivia. A morphological comparison of specimens of “Tocoro” with published descriptions and keys of related species establishes that these bamboos belong to Aulonemia herzogiana and A. hirtula; the latter is a new record for the country. Furthermore, misidentifications in specimens of A. hirtula and an erroneous description of A. herzogiana were detected.
