Abstract
Three new species of the genus Cheilolejeunea are described and illustrated: C. cyrtolejeuneoides sp. nov. and C. grosseoleosa sp. nov. both from Brazil, and C. azureomontana sp. nov. from Jamaica. Cheilolejeunea cyrtolejeuneoides is similar to C. holostipa and C. insecta but mainly differing by autoicous plants and deeply bifid underleaves; Cheilolejeunea grosseoleosa is characterized by dioicous plants, small size, strongly crenulate keel, and differs mainly from other species of the genus by its single large coarsely segmented oil body per cell, composed only of 4‒6 globules; Cheilolejeunea azureomontana is characterized by autoicous plants, leaves spreading, spathulate to slightly obovate leaf lobe, basal cells forming a poorly differentiated vitta, and cells toward margin obliquely arranged. The number of Cheilolejeunea species worldwide is estimated at 140–150.
