Abstract
Acrobolbus mashpianus, a leafy liverwort of the family Acrobolbaceae, is described as new to science from the Chocó Biogeographical Region. It is characterized by strongly asymmetrical, deeply bilobed leaves with ciliate marginal teeth. The new species is illustrated and its relationships within the genus Acrobolbus are discussed. A key to the Ecuadorian species of Acrobolbus is provided.
