Abstract
During the fungal collection trip in China, three Seiridium isolates were obtained from cankered tissues of the Chinese windmill palm (Trachycarpus fortunei) branches. Identification of these isolates was conducted by morphological characters on PDA plates, and combined ITS, RPB2, TEF and TUB sequences data. Hence, Seiridium chinense sp. nov. was described herein, which represents a new member from Arecaceae plants. Seiridium chinense is distinguished from its phylogenetically close species, S. venetum, by having wider conidia.
