Discovery of the first species of Embolemidae (Hymenoptera: Chrysidoidea) from Hkamti (Myanmar) amber
Abstract
The genus Ampulicomorpha Ashmead, 1893 (Hymenoptera: Embolemidae) currently includes 24 extant described species (Perkovsky et al., 2020). They are known from all the zoogeographic regions, excluding Antarctica (see Chény et al., 2020: fig. 1). Information about their biology is extremely reduced and needs further investigations. The few species whose biology has been studied parasitize nymphs of Achilidae (Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha) feeding on fungі inside rotten logs (Guglielmino & Bückle, 2013; Olmi et al., 2014b; Perkovsky et al., 2020).
