Abstract

(DHQD)2AQN cinchona alkaloid has been used to prepare a new functionalized valerolactone monomer by a Michaël-addition process and to catalyse its bulk copolymerization by simply adding exogenous alcohol and the comonomer (one-pot process). As compared with the state-of-the-art, the ease of monomer preparation is characterized by a very low E-factor. Furthermore, this article is supplemented by supporting information.
