Abstract
The UK construction industry has been fairly enthusiastic in its adoption of information and communication technologies to improve collaborative working. For example, recent research shows that the industry is currently using over 20 internet portals to share project information online. However, this paper concludes that a radical, top-down reappraisal is now needed to identify the systems really required to support true collaboration.
