Abstract
The system of sulfoaluminateferritebelitic (SAFB) clinker in combination with hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose (HPMC) and polyphosphates (poly-P) provides, despite its complexity, appropriate raw mixtures for syntheses of MDF materials with cross-linking clusters comprising Al, Fe, O, C and P atoms in unique local structures. The addition of HPMC is disadvantageous, causing decreased moisture resistance at a relative humidity of 100%. In contrast, poly-P has an impregnating/barrier effect; when MDF test pieces are tested for moisture resistance the irreversible mass increase (shown by thermal analysis to be due to carbonation) is as low as 2%.
