Abstract
This study investigated the coastal erosion of Capo Colonna cliff in Calabria, Italy. It included an assessment of multidisciplinary studies concerning coastal processes along the Calabrian coast and presents a description of the mechanisms that triggered the landslide of the Capo Colonna cliff located in the protected marine area of Capo Rizzuto, extending for a length of approximately 4 km and having a total surface area of approximately 135 km2. The study especially focused on the effects of the phenomenon of coastal erosion of the cliff and proposes some possible interventions for the rehabilitation of this coastline.
