Abstract
The participation of women in business is ever increasing, and there is a gradual increase of enterprises owned by women in India. Women entrepreneurship development is rising in different states of India, but the growth of women entrepreneurship is relatively low in the northeastern region. Entrepreneurship development is dependent upon entrepreneurial intention, which is again contingent upon personal antecedents. The study makes an attempt to analyse the perception of college-going female students over the personal antecedents influencing entrepreneurial intention. Fifteen components influencing entrepreneurial intention have been identified and grouped under five personal antecedents to prepare questionnaire and conduct online survey. Population includes female students of colleges of Silchar town of Assam, and the sample size is 88. Relevant descriptive and inferential statistics have been used. The most influential personal antecedent triggering entrepreneurial intention is ‘Need for achievement’, which is followed by ‘Self-confidence’, ‘Risk-bearing capacity’, ‘Creativity’ and ‘Adaptability’.
