Autoperfusion of Kidney with Pruitt-Inahara Shunt in Renal Vascular Reconstruction—A Case Report

Abstract

A case of renovascular hypertension (RVH) with severe left renal artery stenosis is reported. This problem was managed by renal endarterectomy and patch angioplasty. During the operation, the authors devised a new idea and applied a Pruitt-Inahara shunt to the abdominal aorta and the distal end of the renal artery for autoperfusion of the kidney. The whole course of treatment is presented. The patient had become normotensive by ten months after the opera tion.
