Abstract
The Matrix Analogies Test-Short Form was developed by Naglieri (1985b) as a quick group screening measure of nonverbal reasoning ability. Although the test was standardized in the United States, initial results for Canadian children suggested that the MAT-SF "travels well." The present study examined the item characteristics, reliability and validity of the test for a sample of 6- to 10-year-old Canadian children. Norms for this sample were similar to those reported for American children.
