Abstract

The review of the literature has been written in three parts. The first reviews the questions and issues raised about the utility of behavior modification and corrections. The second portion of the paper reviews literature according to the technique applied. The final portion provides a brief description and assessment of program which have attempted intervention through behavioral technology. The review concludes that repeated studies demonstrate that offenders' behavior can be modified within the correctional institution. However, researchers have not addressed the issue of modification of illegal acts.
