Abstract
The Personality Assessment System (PAS; Gittinger, 1964) is a theory based on differential aptitudes and abilities. Wechsler Scales are used to operationalize the theoretical dimensions. The theory and selected supporting research are described. Some research specific to career assessment is presented, and general principles of using the PAS in career assessment are discussed. The theory can be used in either a job-person match approach or a self-knowledge approach to career counseling.
