Abstract
This article introduces a new measure of employees' Perceptions of Career Management Practices (PCMP). Previous career management research has, to a considerable degree, been largely descriptive and theoretical rather than predictive and empirical. Empirical career research has been limited to specific career management practices and has not focused on employees' perceptions of these practices. The first study identified the most prevalent career management practices then utilized employees' perceptions of these practices to develop a new measure. The new measure PCMP was validated in a second study.
