Abstract
The purpose of this short article is to discuss ethical dilemmas that research nurses may have in the process of including patients in clinical trials. These dilemmas are discussed in relation to virtue ethics and ethics of duty. There is an increasing interest in the subject of nursing ethics, but very few studies have focused on the ethical dilemmas faced by research nurses and other staff who work with clinical trials. Focusing on the ethical dilemmas that may arise in the inclusion process, may enable the research nurse to achieve a balance between virtue ethics and ethics of duty.
