Abstract
A microprocessor-based phase controlled triac with rectifier bridge provides variable voltage to a d.c. motor. The ability of the controller to demonstrate different aspects of d.c. motor control such as soft start and speed control is illustrated. As an experiment, this introduces students to the use of a microprocessor in d.c. machine control.
