Abstract
The ways in which we think about and refer to people with disabilities has changed considerably over the years; the terminology and educational strategies used continue to evolve. It is important for music teachers to stay well-informed on the latest research, labels being used, and best practice, especially when working with students with disabilities in inclusive music classrooms. This article provides guidance for music educators on staying well-informed, along with recommendations for researchers concerning students with disabilities.
