Abstract
The author, having `inherited' a group from a deceased colleague and friend, found that it remained `her' (the late therapist's) group until the end. In this article, noted countertransferential issues are raised, and a striking analogy is found between events in the therapist's own training group and supervision and the events in the `inherited' group. Some relevant literature is discussed initially, the history of the group is outlined, the concept of `transition' (from one therapist to another) discussed, and further developments, including termination, are analysed.
