Group Analysis and Aesthetic Equilibrium

Abstract

This beautiful paper was written after my last meeting with Eduardo Cortesão. That was in May 1989 when I took part in the First Portuguese Congress of Group Analysis, held in celebration of Dr Cortesão's career as Professor of Psychiatry at Lisbon University and his achievement in bringing group analysis to Portugal, and to mark the publication in Portuguese of his book on group analysis. The well-attended group, which included delegates from Latin America, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, demonstrated the significance of the Portuguese group-analytic movement and the respect that Eduardo Cortesão merited.
