Abstract

The variation in the long-term pulpal reactions to 60 experimental fillings in intact human premolars was analyzed by the General Linear Model procedure. Results showed that variations in the experimental conditions related to individual, tooth, and cavity preparations significantly influenced the degree of the reactions. Considering these factors in the design of experiments and in the interpretation of results, the discriminatory power of the tests will increase.
