Abstract
Cortisone, hydrocortisone, corticosterone, epinephrine, ACTH, and the vehicle were injected into female CD-1 mice on days 11 to 14 of pregnancy, either intramuscularly, intraperitoneally, or subcutaneously. Cortisone and hydrocortisone significantly increased cleft palate frequency in all three injection routes, and corticosterone increased the frequency only in the intramuscular and subcutaneous routes.
