Abstract
The electron microprobe was used to determine concentration differences of alloys by line scanning. The coefficient of variation was used to quantitatively define the degree of segregation. Palladium was found to segregate the most; gold and platinum, the least. There was no difference in segregation between fine- and coarse-grained alloys.
