Abstract
The diagnosis of cardiac contusion is seldom considered in life, possibly because of its usual association with more obvious trauma. Nevertheless, it may be a relatively common lesion, and two cases illustrating its potential seriousness are presented. The literature is then reviewed as to both pathological and clinical findings, and the medicolegal implications of the injury are discussed.
