Abstract
THE study describes a local radio series and back-up leaflet designed to reach women during pregnancy. Effects were evaluated in terms of changes in knowl edge and attitudes about pregnancy and antenatal care. The results indicate that local radio can be a powerful educational medium if appropriate tech niques are employed. Implications for the way health promotion messages are delivered are discussed.
