Confidence Intervals for the PPVT-R

Abstract

Dunn and Dunn (1981) provided a minimal amount of information about the confidence intervals for the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-Revised (PPVT-R). While bands of error are included on the PPVT-R record form, these estimated true score-based intervals (Robwtson & Eisenberg, 1981) are for the 68% level of confidence only. This paper provides confidence intervals for the 80, 85, 90, and 95% levels of confidence for the PPVT-R using the estimated true score and obtained score-based methods. Implications of these results for use of the test are presented.
