Use of Glutaraldehyde Solution in Treatment of Acute Descending Aortic Dissection

Abstract

Based on technical simplicity and safety, we report a promising method for toughening and strengthening the aortic wall through direct application of 25% glutaraldehyde solution in the same manner described in 1989 by Vasseur and Hammond for treating patients with acute ascending aortic dissection. We have used this technique successfully in a patient with acute descending aortic dissection.
