Abstract
This article examines how the economic reforms in the USSR have generated a demand for management training in western business practices. Coventry Polytechnic has pioneered courses for Soviet executives in the UK, and the author discusses the strategy adopted, the technology transfer that followed on from the courses, and the problems revealed by the experience of teaching Soviet managers.
