Abstract
Some sophisticated lighting computer programs model internal reflection explicitly, by dividing the room into a set of diffusing elements. This Note presents a method to improve the speed of the resulting interreflection calculation by a factor of two or three. The resulting algorithm is especially appropriate for visualization programs which generate a photometric image of an interior.
