Abstract
The DFVLR and the Dornier aircraft factory are developing in a joint programme a low-cost gust alleviation system for future application in a small twin-engined transport aircraft. The main purpose of this gust alleviation system is the improvement of passenger ride comfort. The gust alleviation system was tested using a scaled down model of the ZKP-research aircraft. All testing was performed in the wind tunnel by means of the installation for dynamic simulation. The investigations have shown that a simple open-loop gust alleviation system can be designed which satisfies the desired conditions. In this paper the wind tunnel technique is described and some results are presented.
