Abstract
This paper presents a control strategy for achieving a robust minimum variance controller (MVC) by modelling uncertainty using a type-2 fuzzy set and satisfying H∞ norm specifications. In this paper, an MVC is designed considering three types of structural, parametric and algorithmic uncertainties. Thus, an interval type-2 fuzzy set is utilized. This paper utilizes one method to construct interval type-2 fuzzy set models by the uncertain interval data and model error modelling approach. In addition, a sufficient condition is developed that guarantees the stability and robustness of the controller. The design of a robust generalized MVC by the identified model is presented. Finally, an experimental test is used to clarify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme. The proposed method (omitting uncertainty of the linear model) considerably decreases output variance from 0.15 to 0.0018.
