Abstract
In the June, 1951, issue of The Journal of Teacher Education, M. R. Trabue re ported the results of an investigation de signed to reveal the characteristics of col lege teachers desired by college presidents. Here Mr. Mazzei, teacher of mathematics in the junior high school at Scranton, Pennsylvania, reports the reactions of junior-high-school students as they under take to identify traits considered by them to be important. The reader may be in clined to ask where, in our ongoing teacher-education programs, conscious ef fort is devoted to the development of qualities deemed most desirable by a typi cal group of American youth.
